New Endress+Hauser DP on a closed tank. Vendor drawing shows a wet leg. Ops filled it dry. Transmitter 4 mA is sitting 8% high. Before I drain a tank, what is the clean first cal you actually run in the field?

Don't drain the tank. Isolate, vent, fill the wet leg with the process fluid or glycol per the spec, then zero at empty-equivalent. 8% high on a dry install is the missing column. After that, one known-level check with a tape. Write the LRV/URV in the transmitter, not only in the DCS.
