PanelView Plus will not talk to a 5069-L306ER after a v37 flash

CompactLogix 5069-L306ER at rev 37. PanelView Plus 7 2711P-T12 still on an older firmware. FactoryTalk shortcut looks right. RSLinx browses both. Runtime on the terminal sits on a red comms banner. Do I flash the terminal first, or is there a fake-controller workaround that still works on v37?

Flash the PanelView. v37 CompactLogix wants a current terminal firmware — the old CE image will browse in Linx and still fail at runtime. A 1769-L35E stand-in in the comms path is a lab trick, not a production plan. Copy the shortcut to the Runtime tab, one tag, one screen, prove comms, then bring the real app back.
